BONPOINT RIDES THE WAVE
BLENDING TRADITION WITH MODERN STYLE, THE FRENCH CHILDREN'S FASHION HOUSE
ASTONISHES AND AMAZES ONCE AGAIN.
This February, Bonpoint launches its Weekend Surf collection,
a line of lively dresses and tie-dye prints.
Echoing these designs inspired by a walk along the Basque Coast,
Bonpoint also celebrates the region's most popular sport with a very
limited edition of four surfboards designed with budding surfers in mind.
In the true tradition of Bonpoint, this represents a new link
between artisanal know-how and contemporary style.
These boards have been skillfully crafted by a Basque artisan based in Ustaritz,
in the Biarritz hinterland. An exceptional surfboard
designed to capture all the speed and energy of the waves.
OBJECT OF DESIRE
A VERY LIMITED EDITION
Surfing has captured the attention of increasingly younger fans,
captivated by a sport in connection with nature
and that the whole family can enjoy together.
Bonpoint has imagined this exceptional creation in a beginner's version!
Before going out and braving the waves on this little handcrafted gem,
we recommend starting with a foam surfboard that offers more stability.
The Bonpoint surfboard measures 175 cm (5'9 ft.) and is suitable for children
around 10 years of age. It features three vibrant colors
- Mimosa Yellow, Virgin Green, and Light
Amber Pink - and there are only four exclusive models available.
THE ART AND PRACTICE
The Bonpoint surfboard is a technical board made of resin.
Each of the four models has been meticulously crafted
following standard practices: the polyurethane foam core, or blank,
pre-cut with a 3D shaping machine, has been reinforced with a traditional
wooden strip, or stringer, running down the center.
After it is shaped, the board undergoes a laminating process, done entirely by hand.
The final step involves attaching the removable high-density plastic fins.
The result is a true piece of craftsmanship.
FROM OUR FASHION HOUSE.... TO THE OCEAN
Because each of our boutiques is a unique space for showcasing
the inspiration for Bonpoint's collections, the four surfboards
made in the Basque country will be displayed
in the window of the Parisian flagship store
on rue de Tournon (Paris 6th arrondissement)
before they are offered for sale.
