Bonpoint-inspired sugar cookies


Bonpoint x benshi

1/ Start by baking the sugar cookies

- 100g unsalted butter
- 80g confectioners’ sugar
- 1 egg (yolk)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract or chosen flavouring
- 100g plain flour

- whip the butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- add an egg and vanilla, mix until blended
- add flour
- place in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour
- roll the dough out for 3-5min and cut out an expanded Cerise Doll shape
- bake cookies for 10-15min or until the edges become golden brown
- let cookies cool to room temperature.


2/ The royal icing

- 200g confectioner’s sugar
- 1 egg (white)

- combine all ingredients into a bowl
- the end product should peak like whipped cream
- add food coloring if desired
- adjust the royal icing in to two types of hardness with water (one harder icing for the outlines and one softer icing to paint the inside)

Once your sugar cookies and your royal icings are ready, place on the table the elements to decorate your cookie:

- food coloring
- leaf-shaped cookie-cutter
- flower-shaped cookie-cutter
- yellow sprinkles
- fondant
- brush

Draw an outline of the face and feet with icing A
Apply the face and feet with icing B
Draw an outline of the dress and hands with icing A
With icing B, apply the dress, hands and sleeves in this order
Undercoat the bangs with a brown food pen
Draw hair with icing A and decorate with silver sprinkles on the knot
Using a food pen, draw the eyes and mouth.
Use icing A for the nose.
